Recap of August Events

Adventure on Tap: Women’s Mountain Bike Association

  • We had a full house at Buffalo Lodge Bicycle Resort during our August Adventure on Tap with the Women's Mountain Bike Association!

  • WMBA members, Natalia Pulido and Nikki Rhodes, shared their experiences as female women of color mountain bikers in a male-dominated sport and why they love it so much.

Thank you WMBA, Natalia, and Nikki for sharing your experiences with the UpaDowna community

Adventure on Tap is an opportunity for individuals of our community to share their experiences, inspire, and educate participants about their passions and adventures. Interested in being our next Adventure on Tap presenter? Contact info@upadowna.org

Intro to Climb Night

  • We had a great group of 11 adventurers join us for Intro to Climbing at City Rock

This program was created to encourage individuals of all ages and activity levels to experience the sport of climbing in a safe and fun environment. Our awesome Activity Leaders, volunteers, and City Rock partners take participants through a tour of the facility and hands-on instruction on how to climb! No gear? No worries! This is included in the package.

Our next Intro to Climbing Night is Friday, September 24

SPUR Teen’s SUP Social

  • SPUR Teen Adventurers headed to Prospect Lake for an end-of-summer SUP Social!

SPUR stands for (S)imilar (P)aths (U)nited by (R)ecreation. Many of us walk the same path and don’t even know it. Finding camaraderie with others who share similar interests helps us feel more comfortable with new experiences. Many times, it can also help to share your challenges with folks who are “climbing” the same mountain as you.

SPUR Teen Adventures was created specifically for teens to make connections with those of similar age through outdoor adventures!

Zumba in the Park

  • We headed back to Nancy Lewis Park for this month’s Zumba in the Park

Although Zumba in the Park is wrapping up for the summer, we will have our wonderful Zumba instructor, Natilia Sibert, at this year’s Folk’n’Flannel Fundraiser and Festival. So don’t put those dancing shoes away quite yet!
