It’s been a great summer for High Trees! Our school holiday youth programme saw over 180 young people join us for adventure play and fun trips out. Peer Action on Youth Violence
In August, we were very excited to begin work on a new youth violence, peer research project with St Matthews Project and Building Young Brixton partners Juvenis, Spiral Skills, IRMO and Marcus Lipton. The Peer Action Collective (PAC), funded by the Youth Endowment Fund, the #iwill fund and the Co-op group, will support young people to take charge, ask questions and find out what needs to happen to make their community a better place to live.
We held our first young researchers recruitment session last week with great results. It was amazing to see young people come together, demonstrate their leadership skills and share ideas on how to create action from research. Learn more about the Youth Endowment Fund and the Peer Action Collective below.

Summer Adventure Play and Fun
Four weeks of summer fun have come to an end at the Adventure Playground. Our highlights include a beach day to Jos Bay, visiting Flip out Trampolining and a workshop with the Brockwell Park BMX group!
Thanks to Lambeth Council’s Summer of Food and Fun funding, young people enjoyed a free lunch every day from local Tulse Hill company, Eternal Nursery Farm who provided us with tasty, natural Caribbean food.
The playground’s usual after-school and Saturday sessions will resume from the 6th of September. This term we will also be offering free dance classes every Monday for young people aged 8-16 who attend after school sessions! To find out more get in contact with the youth team here
