The Rev. Dr. Henrietta (Rhetta) Wiley, Priest

Welcome Cindy Christopher to Trinity!

Dear Friends in Christ,

I would like to thank you for inviting me to be a member of your congregation and I look forward to getting to know each of you!  There are many exciting things we can explore together as we move Trinity Towson forward into the future!

I have been married to my husband Tom for 40 years- we were 5 when we married!  We have two adult sons, Ryan, who is married to Lauren and they have 4 children- Sam, Caylee, Noah, and Scarlet; and my second son, Doug, is single with two boys, Landon and Hudson. We live in Monkton Md, and our children live not far from us!

My fulltime occupation is as a nurse anesthetist, which means I can put you to sleep with medicine, not just my sermons!  I have been a nurse for over 30 years; working critical care at Shock Trauma, Emergency Room at GBMC, as well as a PACU/OR nurse.  I obtained my Associates Degree/RN at Essex Community College, my BSN from the College of Notre Dame, and my master’s degree in Anesthesia from Villanova in PA in 2006; after which I went to work at York Hospital until I began working at St. Joseph Hospital in Towson, roughly 2.5 years ago. I do love my job!

After swearing I was not going back to school, God had other plans!  I felt a tug at my heart to do something more, something more within the church so I enrolled in the Diaconate program. Well, first it was 2 years of discernment, then after being accepted into the Diaconate, another 3 years of classes.  I was ordained in June of 2016 and my first assignment was at Holy Trinity Essex.  I spent roughly 5.5 years there until moving on now to Trinity Towson!

This is an exciting move for me!  Trinity has so much to offer and so many opportunities for us to be Christ’s hands and feet in this world!  I am ever grateful to have the opportunity to serve as your Deacon.
.
Yours in Christ,
Cindy Christopher+
