£5million for local councils to provide housing support to Afghans coming to UK
Government has invited councils to apply for a share of £5 million under what is titled the Afghan LES (Locally Employed Staff) Housing Costs Fund to help provide the necessary housing and support to Afghans who have worked for this country in Afghanistan, but who now face threats of persecution or worse. The Government have announced the allocation of £8.6 billion funding under the 2021-26 AHP that will deliver around 119,000 homes, including 57,000 for ownership, and 29,600 for social rent.Read more

ARCH supports call for early discussions on Fire Safety Act implementation
ARCH is supporting the Local Government Association in a call for early discussions with Home Office officials on the timescales for the imposition of new duties on local authority “responsible persons” under the Fire Safety Act 2021.
We are also working with the LGA to set up a series of training events aimed specifically at designated “Responsible Persons”, Housing Directors and Portfolio Holders. Read more
