Labor Day
The school is closed Monday, Sept. 6 for Labor Day, including Early Childhood. Please be extra cautious during this holiday weekend as families tend to gather for festivities. We hope you have a safe and relaxing extra day of rest!

MAP Growth Assessment
HSES will conduct the first MAP® formative assessment the week of Sept. 7 for students in K-8th grade. This evaluation process measures the academic growth of students in LS and MS, by taking the test three times during the school year for an accurate view of their learning progress.

Please help students during this busy week by establishing a healthy routine that includes prompt bedtimes, nutritious meals, early arrivals, quality hours of sleep and time to relax.

EC & PS Dress Day
The days designated as "chapel dress day" are for students to wear the chapel uniform.
- P3 & P4 - Tuesdays
- EC Twos - Wednesdays
On the rest of the days, students may wear chapel or non-chapel uniform items, even for outdoor chapel days.

Birthday Blessings
Parents in LS and MS are invited to the monthly Eucharist service that includes communion and birthday blessings. PS Parents are invited to Thursday services in the courtyard for birthday blessings. Check the school calendar for dates.

Enrichment Starts Soon
Afterschool and parent-paid enrichment classes start next week. Each coordinator will communicate with parents on the times, dates and locations for the activity. If you have questions on registration, description or logistics, contact the coach or instructor.

Picture Day
Student pictures are scheduled per division. Review the dates to ensure your child wears the chapel uniform on their picture day.

Early Childhood Dress Code
EC Twos students must wear a chapel uniform for pictures.
EC toddlers and infants may wear Sunday best with the option to change after the session.

Athletic Handbook
Review the guidelines for the Middle School Athletics program and sports for each season. Students in 5th through 8th grade that participate in sports must complete the acknowledgment form located on the last page of the handbook and return it to the Athletic Director.

Math+ Prep Program
Strake Jesuit Math Instructor is offering the Advanced Math program open to students in 6th through 8th grade. The RedwoodPrep course focuses on probability and mathematical concepts for students to apply in real life. View the brochure for schedule and cost.

Museum Exhibit
Our dear community member, Rosa Ana Orlando is a proud curator of the "Withstand - Latinx Art in Times of Conflict" exhibit taking place at the Holocaust Museum Houston until October 17. Mrs. Orlando invites families to visit the gallery that celebrates Hispanic culture with a wide variety of art formats.

Medical Inquiries
The school nurses are available during morning carpool and throughout the school day to answer any health-related questions. You can also contact them regarding medical records, immunizations or symptoms of illness. They are always willing to extend a helping hand and we are blessed to have them on our team!
