We are excited to start a new sermon series called Family: Vintage Values in the Modern Age. Join this Sunday at 9:30 or 11:00 am!
We have an unique opportunity coming up primarily for the members of GraceLife. This special-invitation ten-day tour of Israel will include many wonderful and beautiful sights of the land of Israel. This is a small group tour, so space is limited as we will be taking 25 persons with us. Traveling with smaller groups always offers a unique opportunity to see more sites than what large groups are able to schedule. Because our group is limited in number, we will be working on a first come, first serve basis with our reservation list. For more information on the rip please visit our Israel Trip info page.
Why I’m Grateful for My Church Family

As I write this, I’m on Day 41 since I first experienced COVID symptoms and am awaiting a pulmonology appointment on Sept. 9, that will hopefully clear me for normal activity. Recently, I have reflected on our church family, more specifically, “why I’m grateful for my church family.”

I don’t have space to go into detail, but I wanted to share a few thoughts.
  1. I know without question you all were and still are praying for us.
  2. Our pastors have been a great support to us by picking up ministry responsibilities, praying, providing food, and even cutting our grass.
  3. Church members have checked on us regularly, through text, email, phone calls, and even some driveway visits. And I can’t forget the stack of cards we have received.
  4. Many of you have gone through your own challenges, modeling what it means to trust God through uncertainty – even growing through the process. Godly examples are invaluable.
  5. We miss you! May seem like a weird reason to be grateful, but we are a part of a church that loves us and that we long to get back to.
Psalm 77: 10-12

Then I thought, “To this I will appeal:
the years when the Most High stretched out his right hand.
I will remember the deeds of the Lord;
yes, I will remember your miracles of long ago.
I will consider all your works
and meditate on all your mighty deeds.”

Life can become hectic. As the fall season approaches along with all the activities it brings, prioritizing God above all else becomes even more critical. Through experience I have realized that the less a priority God is, the less at peace my soul is. The issues that come each day become overwhelming. The tendency to rely on my strength begins to weaken my spirit. And as we sink under the waves, we have the opportunity to remember what God has done and reach out to His hand that is stretched out towards us, and just like Peter, He will lift us out. If God has become less of a priority for you, it is never too later to return to His loving peace. This week we will be singing worship songs that remind us how good God has been to us. When I daily recall His mercy and goodness through my life, I have found that giving Him preeminence is obvious. So here are the songs we will be singing. Come ready to worship.

This week we had some pretty crazy storms come through our area, but those storms can seem mild compared to some of the metaphorical storms we face in life. When hard times come, it’s important to remember God’s promise to provide peace in the midst of the storms. This article gives us some practical ways to experience God’s peace for us and our kids. Check it out and let me know how I can be praying for your family! — Pastor Jonathan

Happy Thursday GraceLife Family!

Last night there were exactly 100 boys and girls here for the first night of Awana! The highest night last year was 91 which occurred on bring a friend night. We are looking forward to seeing what God is going to do in and through this ministry. Each person who is here represents a boy or a girl who is studying God’s Word and memorizing Scripture! It is not to late to join – all kids ages 2 through the 6th grade are invited to join us next Wednesday night at 6:30. We are still looking for some volunteers to help on Wednesday nights – especially in the Sparks club (Kindergarten through 2nd grade). If you would like to find out more information please let me know.

This Sunday morning we will be starting over in Genesis with the Gospel Project Life Group literature. This week would be a great week to join a Life Group. The Gospel project will take us as a church from Genesis through Revelation in 3 years. — Pastor Dave

Join us at GraceLife for a one-night simulcast event. Laugh and learn with your spouse as you hear from marriage experts and discover how to honor God in your marriage. Dinner will be provided. It will $20 per/person.

Marriage Night will bring together thousands of husbands, wives, and engaged couples to hear from J.D. and Veronica Greear, Aaron & Jamie Ivey, Jonathan & Kanika Evans, and comedian Dustin Nickerson.

Healthy marriages do not happen by accident. They require work and dedication, but with the busyness of life and the pressures of culture it is easy to lose focus. What is marriage supposed to look like when the initial bursts of excitement give way to everyday troubles and routines?

Marriage Night is an opportunity to get practical answers to this question.

Attendees will get expert teaching and principles for a lasting relationship while being challenged to see the greater purpose of marriage—to glorify God and advance the Gospel. Marriage is made for more than a fairy tale ending. It is a picture of God’s hope and redemption for a world in need of rescue.
