  Announcements

Lightning talks at October meeting
  • Thee next KPMP virtual meeting is October 12-14, 2021. The meeting agenda features a mix of presentations and breakouts. The lightning talks featured during our spring meeting were engaging and successful, and we plan to have lightning talk sessions at the upcoming meeting. We are interested in hearing from the consortium, particularly from our early-stage investigators, about how they would like to use KPMP data to answer their research questions.
  • We’d like to invite interested investigators to present during these lightning sessions. Each talk should be no more than 3 slides/5 minutes and address the following points:
  1. Describe the problem of interest
  2. Describe your hypothesis and rationale based on previous data
  3. Describe which KPMP data you would need, and subsequent analysis on this data, to address the problem of interest. This slide can also include types of data you might need that KPMP is not currently collecting, and if there are any additional quality control measures we should include in the data collection.
  • This presentation invitation is open to anyone, and we encourage our early-stage investigators in particular to present. If you are interested, please contact me no later than Tuesday September 28th at 12pm ET with your proposed presentation topic and a short abstract. We will try to accommodate as many interested parties as possible but will be limited by available presentation time. We will prioritize requests from early-stage investigators and topics not already presented at the April meeting. If you are interested, we encourage you to think outside the box with your research questions of interest.
  • The fall meeting is October 12-14th and is scheduled for four and a half hours each day, beginning at 12:30 pm ET/9:30 am PT. Registration and the agenda are not yet available but will be sent out in coming weeks. Lightning talk speakers will be confirmed and notified by Friday October 1st. Lightning talk speakers not associated with a KPMP site will be asked to sign an NDA in order to attend the meeting.
