A study in heritage portraits for the community by Douglass Carr Cunningham
Hillsboro, Texas - August 2021 The goal of The Faces of Hillsboro is to help bring us more closely together through the arts - my art. I was a Navy photojournalist for 20 years, but I have changed my focus (pun intended). My experience also includes weddings, sports and fine arts. But, never mind all that. Let's take pictures.
The Faces of Hillsboro Project idea is simple. Make appointment. I take photo. Simple.
- Wear casual clothing befitting your personality (wear what you wish).All photos are natural light, simple poses, with little retouching to be done.
- I am looking to reveal your character and inner beauty. Everybody has it.
- Taken with old-fashioned black and white film. It takes time to process and view. The mystery remains - no peeking before it is done, 843-442-7424
Learn photography with Hill College Continuing Education. Over several months, COVID and the weather has affected this offering. Charleston: One City, One Soul photography exhibit is new to Hillsboro. It is two photographers attempt at showing we have more in common as people than what divides us. Douglass Carr Cunningham and Iveta Butler collaborated on a two year, enlightening film-shooting project on the streets of Charleston, South Carolina to express a unity of people. It is on exhibit at Divine Photography Gallery, 127 E. Elm Street, Hillsboro, Texas. The opening reception is September 9, at 5:30 - 7:30pm. Refreshments, also. Free to all.
