Hello, we hope and pray that you and your family may have been safe during this catastrophic time! We know that some (or many) of us are trying to deal with the effect of the passing of Ida. But in case you are good and looking for an opportunity to get your Club active again, this is the time to let Jesus shine!
We got in contact with the Adventist Community Services director, pastor Mike Gill. He is willing to donate 100 cleaning supplies buckets that are ready at the ACS facility. These buckets are suitable for people who have had moderate flooding damages, as they contain bleach, brushes, cleaning wipes, latex gloves and other cleaning supplies.
So, this is the idea:
1. Pray and get in contact with your pastor and tell him/her that you’re planning on doing this special project.
2. Get in contact with your staff, club members and parents asking if they aren’t doing good and give them the opportunity to be part of this.
3. Ask them to identify neighbors, elderly or disabled people that may be in need of the cleaning supply buckets.
4. Get in contact with us to reserve your buckets.
5. Wait for confirmation email.
6. Come and pick them up at the ACS facility (2160 Brunswick Ave, Lawrenceville NJ 08648)
7. Ask club members to pick them up at your local distribution place (maybe church parking lot or any centric place) and distribute them. Or get together with your club and distribute them together (don’t forget to (1) wear your scarf and (2) document this project, as this opens doors to receive more supplies and support from the community).
As an alternative or additionally, where possible get your club and identify specific families who are in need and offer the service of your club (kids, staff and parents) to help them get a rid of all the trash and damaged thinks they may have in their home.
Don’t forget that Club Ministries are also about SERVICE!
