The Mighty Parkes Show!

What memories do you have of the Parkes Show growing up? Meeting up with friends, making the $20 dollars mum gave you stretch as far as possible on the rides?! School News
News Sharing
Year 1 share parts of their lives every week by participating in talking and listening. Before lockdown Evie showed us her special doll that she can dress and explained that it plays a tune. Adelaide shared her snow trip photographs. Mrs Pobjie was very excited to see that her snowman was complete with a carrot nose and crackers for eyes as well as her snow angel and her family enjoying the toboggans.
We ready are missing having news in our classrooms, so if you have something wonderful you would like to share for news during lockdown, feel free to video it and share it with your teacher.
Year 5 Leading Assembly
Earlier this term, Year 5 led an assembly to demonstrate what they have been learning in class. They showed the school how writing can be affected by switching between the first and third person perspectives. They also took the opportunity to share their perspective on the memory verse: Micah 6:8 - And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God. Finally, they shared a reader's theatre. Year 5 have practised reader's theatre scripts every week in order to develop their public speaking skills, particularly the use of voice to engage an audience.

Music Through Time
This term in Year 8 Music, we have been going on a musical journey through time, starting with the Baroque era with Bach and Handel, moving through the Classical era with Beethoven and Mozart, into the Romantic era, and then into the late 19th and early 20th century. Students had the option during our study of the Romantic Period, to play either In the Hall of the Mountain King, or the William Tell Overture. Chloe Amery submitted In the Hall of the Mountain King. Well done Chloe and Year 8!
Aeronautical Engineering
Engineering Studies students recently completed an Engineering report on Aeronautical Engineering. Here is Caleb Hill with the paper planes he built to determine the best type from one sheet of A4 paper.
Multimedia
