Office of the Provost, Business and Technology Services hosted a 2-hour painting and trivia session over Zoom! The event was an overwhelming success with employees reporting stress-relief and closer relationships to their peers!

Healthy Department Certification Applications are 0pen!

The Healthy Department Certification is designed to highlight those departments that are making strides toward practicing and promoting health and well-being in the workplace. The application focuses on eight areas of well-being and aims to start a conversation on where your department is doing well as well as highlight areas that have room for improvement. Completion of the Certification within the last 3 years is a pre-requisite for applying for a Wellness Ambassador Mini Grant.

Turning Spooktacular Jack-o’-Lanterns into Delish Creations!

Summer has turned into fall, and Halloween is right around the corner. October is full of fun pumpkin patch activities, from picking the right pumpkin, carving jack-o’-lanterns, and decorating! Even though consuming pumpkin has health benefits, most pumpkins are thrown away after the celebration. According to U.S. Energy Department, almost 2 billion pounds of pumpkins are grown in the United States and ~1.3 billion pounds are tossed into landfills after Halloween every year. Food waste landfills emit methane, a powerful greenhouse gas that contributes to climate change.
