Birmingham 2022 Creative City Grants Programme open
The Application portal is now open for the Birmingham 2022 Creative City Grants Programme in partnership with Birmingham City Council.

New Housing Status Could Benefit Thousands
Witton Lodge Community Interest Company (CIC) has achieved Registered Provider status. This will allow the newly formed company to apply for funding in order to refurbish derelict properties and build new affordable and social housing for those in need.

Computers to be made available for good causes
In partnership with BVSC, Birmingham City Council is donating 500 computers to charities, community groups and other voluntary organisations within Birmingham and the wider West Midlands region. This is a great opportunity for your organisation to be involved in this social value initiative, to support the council in developing digital skills and inclusion across Birmingham.

Birmingham and Lewisham African & Caribbean Health Inequalities Review
Birmingham and Lewisham African & Caribbean Health Inequalities Review (BLACHIR) is a joint research project between Lewisham Council and Birmingham City Council. It has begun ground-breaking work to gather insights on health inequalities experienced by African and Caribbean communities.

The BVSC Research Team are currently planning the next State of the Sector Survey Questionnaire. We're calling out to Birmingham's Voluntary, Community, Faith, and Social Enterprise sectors to tell us what we should be asking this year. All you need to do is answer three questions.

Deutsche Bank Opportunity Fund
This year, Deutsche Bank has decided to shift the focus of the fund to increase its impact on one specific issue – homelessness. A report released by Shelter in November 2018 showed that the rate of homelessness in Birmingham is 1 in 66 (Shelter) and there had also been an increase in the number of rough sleepers.

New £2.5m community climate action fund offers grants of up to £10K
The ‘Together for Our Planet’ funding programme has been launched in the run up to COP26 by The National Lottery Community Fund. It offers grants to support local community projects, covering areas such as food, transport, energy, waste and consumption and the natural environment.

Fund launches with criminal cash available to community organisations
The Active Citizens’ Fund has been relaunched this week with £180,000 on offer. It is made up from money which has been seized from criminals under the Proceeds of Crime Act (POCA) and is used to allow communities to invest in their neighbourhoods to improve safety.
