What happened in August!
Debbie gave an inspiring presentation on 'Gries Connect' - creating community projects to improve the neighourhood of Gries. Lots of exciting ideas - from community gardens, street art, artisan markets and more. Chat to Debbie if you would like to be involved.
Debbie also weclomed the mayor of Graz to the Seddwell Center and the Beeihive store!
We had a wonderful visit from the mayor of Graz - Siegfried Nagl and his team.

MigrantInnenbeirat Election Sept 26
Graz residents who don't hold an Austrian or EU passport are eligible to vote on Sept 26 for the Migrant's Advisory Council. They represent migrants interests in the city of Graz government.
We would like to introduce you to one of the candidates - our friend Boogi from Mongolia. She is focused on helping women, climate change and socal justice. Please consider giving her your vote for her party MFG 'Migrant:Innen für GLEICHberechtigung'. Read more about Boogie and her party here.
Do you enjoy reading, taking pictures or watching films? Why not share your passion with others? base Verein are planning to start a book/newspaper-club and a photo/film club at Seddwell Center. Since we are now in the planning stages, you can also participate in the organization of the clubs. For the photoclub, we have development machines for analogue films. In the future we would like to offer courses on analogue film development.
If you are interested, please let Matthias know at
bookclub@base-graz.eu
or

The clubs can either be organized in German or English.

Support Peninah!
As a community we come together to support our members in need. Peninah is a wonderful community member in Graz who gives so much to so many. Her sister was hit by a car in Kenya and is now fighting for her life. Peninah and her family are unable to pay the hospital bills so we are reaching out to our community to ask for some help. If everyone we know puts in just 10€ it will make a difference. For more info please read her story on the GOFund me platform.
