GND FOR PUBLIC SCHOOLS RESOLUTION

The results are in, Miami DSA members voted to approve the GND4PS resolution! Our chapter is prioritizing the National DSA GND4PS campaign, with the ultimate goal to build an ecosocialist base for a Green New Deal. The Green New Deal for Public Schools will bring $1.4 trillion over ten years in public K-12 schools, while creating 1.3 million jobs in the public and private sector. Interested in getting involved in the Campaign? Click here to fill out the interest form!

YDSA STIPEND RESOLUTION

Thank you all for overwhelmingly passing the resolution supporting YDSA chapters in Miami-Dade County. This is a huge step forward in bridging the gap between YDSA and DSA, which is necessary if we are to advance socialism in Miami-Dade. As we continue to grow in size as a chapter, we see student chapters form across college and university campuses across the county and as Miami DSA we must do everything in our power to ensure they have the necessary support to conduct their organizing work. This is a big win for all of us moving forward.

WORK DAY AT GREEN HAVEN

Last month, Miami DSA volunteered at Green Haven Project in Overtown. The take away from this day of service is that doing meaningful work in our community is rewarding and needed. The work was arduous, considering that places like Overtown that lack greenery are more susceptible to the sun. This is just one example of why Miami DSA needs to get to work on a Green New Deal. After our hard work, we had a social at Jose Marti Park where we debriefed the event and enjoyed food and comradery. We will be hosting monthly work days at the Green Haven Project urban farm. Stay tuned for those events!
