To date, over 1/5th of all Kentucky schools districts have shut their doors due to Covid-related absences. For some, it is a lack of bus drivers. Others are seeing large numbers of students and staff in quarantine. And despite the dismal numbers seen across the state, I find myself grateful for our fortunate circumstances here at Bellevue Independent Schools.
Thanks to the diligence of our students, staff, and neighbors, numbers within our buildings have remained low in a time where incidence rates around us are soaring. And though we have reported our share of quarantines and positive cases in the past year and a half, there is one piece of data that continues to give me hope: not a single positive case we have reported has been traced to in-school exposure.
We have avoided the shift to NTI because you have remained strong partners in our mitigation efforts. We all have the same goal of keeping our students in our schools. We urge you to keep up the great work that has kept our students safe, and we promise to do everything in our power to do the same.
I hope you have a relaxing, enjoyable, and safe holiday weekend. See you next week, Tigers.
Sincerely,
Dr. Robb Smith- Superintendent
