Families, Children and Young People
Exploring ways we can help young people deepen, develop and live out their faith.
Young people, school, friendships, and the way they look
This year’s Good Childhood Report, Summary and Youth Summary has been released. The Children’s Society CEO Mark Russell says:
“In the tenth year of our Good Childhood Report, society is tragically failing to prioritise the next generation. Even before Covid more young people were unhappy with their lives than they were a decade ago. As modern life continues to erode the happiness of young people, and society returns to normal, the government must recognise that the norm is not good enough for our children.”

Monthly Letter
As staff and pupils started to go back to school on Thursday, the Dean of Salisbury wrote:
Since you last read Grapevine you may have taken a holiday, whether a Covid-induced staycation or an adventure further afield.
Or you may have been made aware of others taking a holiday. Perhaps you have welcomed them into your home or your church (or perhaps you have found that your workload has increased as you have covered for colleagues).
Whatever shape it’s taken, the summer has meant exploration, whether of new places or of our own reserves of patience! Read more...

A Prayer for our new Bishop
As Bishop Karen prayed at Bishop’s Council last week:
Gracious God,
We ask that you send us a new Bishop who loves you,
is faithful and prayerful,
who will teach your Word
who has a real love for people,
who will lead your church effectively.
Guide all who help find this person,
lead them not to the one we think we want,
but to the one you know we need.
In this whole process, may your will alone be done.
Amen
