Friendly New Faces at Soil Cycle

Our spunky new Cyclist, Mari!

Our new Operations Assistant, Nick!
Teamwork at Soil Cycle is what makes this organization so successful. We couldn't do it without our hardworking cyclists like Mari, and we certainly couldn't accomplish all of the hard work that Nick eagerly and enthusiastically throws himself into. Next time you're in the neighborhood make sure to give these two a warm welcome and a hearty thank you!
New Soil Blend in Bulk!

Soil Cycle is excited to promote our new ready-to-plant mix made from a combination of repurposed soil and high quality compost. This mix retains water while providing nutrients to your plants! Stop on by to pick up your bulk soil bend today! Only $1/gallon.

Soil Cycle gets an Earth Tub!

There's a new Earth Tub at Soil Cycle and boy oh boy are we excited. It now lives at Soil Cycle thanks to students at the PEAS farm for delivering this monstrous composting unit.

We've been busy installing some new piping and aeration after rerouting power in order to accommodate our new friend, the Earth Tub. Created by Green Mountain Technologies, a commercial composting solutions organization based in Bainbridge Island, WA, the Earth Tub is a force to be reckoned with. While it's unfortunately discontinued, the Earth Tub is a self-contained aeration and mixing system for composting food waste. The system operates as a continues batch process where you add more material to each batch until the tub is full. The Earth Tub holds 3 yards of materials and is made using UV stabilized plastic.

PEAS Farm summer students help deliver the Earth Tub, it was an adventure!
Autumn Fundraiser:
House Plant Adoption Fair!

While we're still ironing out the details for our upcoming House Plant Adoption Fair Fundraiser, we're putting out a call for volunteers to start propagating plant babies for Soil Cycle!
Have You Visited Our Free Library?

Thanks to construction extraordinaire,
David Erickson, and trusty volunteer Mike, Soil Cycle has our own free library! This sweet little home for books was built using funds from a COVID-19 Education grant with the idea to reduce in-person contact while still providing soil and gardening resources to the community.

Meet our new
Board Secretary:
Rachel Dierken
Rachel was one of the first Soil Cycle subscribers and she has been an avid supporter ever since (can you say worm casings and compost tea?!). Rachel has a background in international higher education and she loves sustainable transportation, playing outside in the dirt, and always strives to make her community a better place. She's excited to support, nurture, and grow this organization through her role as the board secretary. Oh and did you know she is the reason these newsletter makes it into your inbox!? (note not from Rachel)
