a concert just for you

Join HFC as we welcome Orpheus Reflections on Thursday, October 21st at 2pm EDT for a virtual concert. Bring your loved ones!

Orpheus Reflections brings the healing power of music to people living with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia, and also to their caregivers. Music can bring emotional and physical closeness, help to ease stress, and encourage positive interactions. Reflections programs give individuals living with dementia and their caregivers the opportunity to participate in intimate performances.

HFC readers share comic relief

Last month we celebrated laughter and asked readers to share what brings you comic relief. Thanks for sharing your beautiful nuggets with us!

HFC reader, Shirley, shared with us, “Mom is in the early end stage of Alzheimer’s. She struggles with words (mixing her Finnish and English), and my understanding of the Finnish language is poor. When I ask her what a word means, she often giggles or laughs 'I don’t know!' and laughs again at the words she has created. That brings me relief, as those happy times are fewer and fewer now.”
