Heritage ... what does it mean.
One website describe the word heritage as follows: Heritage is a person's unique, inherited sense of family identity: the values, traditions, culture, and artefacts handed down by previous generations.
To our family, because food is such an important part of our traditions, it means braai, hertzoggies, milk tart, braai broodjies, koeksisters. A good cup of coffee with rusks (beskuit).
For us it is also important to build a heritage for the generations to come, as values get more refined, cultures influence each other, and traditions are what you do every day, not what happened 100 years ago.
