W Green Lake Way N reopens to people driving today with new walk/bike path

Greetings Green Lake Keep Moving Street community,

We’re happy to share the new 2-way path for people walking and biking on W Green Lake Way N is on track for completion by the end of the day today. Seattle Parks & Recreation expects to open all parking lots along W Green Lake Way N by the end of next week.

Leveraging investments made through the Green Lake and Wallingford Paving & Multimodal Project, you now have a street for people of all ages and abilities to more comfortably drive, walk, roll, and bike. If you're driving, please be aware the speed limit is now 20 MPH to make it easier for people to walk between the two parks.

The images above show the design which includes a 2-way space separated for people walking and biking on the Green Lake side of the street and 2-way vehicle traffic on the Woodland Park side. Please travel slowly as people learn the new configuration. We'll observe how the change is working and make modifications as needed.

We’ll post engagement opportunities of project webpage and we’ll continue to email this list to keep you informed.

Thank you to everyone who connected with us about the Keep Moving Street and this new iteration. Community feedback shaped what this street has now become and we appreciate everyone who helped us get here.

Thank you,
Keep Moving Streets team
