It has been a really exciting time here at Hello World.
Our ground-breaking How To Build You Own Hello Hub Guide is live, and our new noticeboard and data portal www.myhellohub.org is providing Hub communities with a place to share information about their Hubs, within their own community, and with Hubs around the world.
MyHelloHub.org lets communities share news, events, provide information on training being run in the community, post photos and discuss ideas. It also provides a window into the activity at a Hello Hub with anonymised data. Popular apps, websites, data usage as well as current locations, with photos and videos from each Hub are all now publicly available. Each Hub has a unique personality thanks to its location and community.
Nepal Building
The Nepal team is back on the road after delays caused by an especially destructive monsoon season and COVID lockdowns. Three more Hubs will be built in remote mountain communities and you can follow the progress on social media (find links to all our accounts at the bottom of this dispatch).
When countries like Nepal are suffering from the catastrophic effects of climate change on top of the pandemic, Internet connectivity is of even more critical importance. Up-to-date health information and weather reports can help to keep communities safe, and enable them to make contingency plans when problems loom.
We are really excited to share the build progress as new Hubs pop up in both Nepal and Uganda in the coming weeks and months.
