Proof of Vaccination in Ontario

Today is 22 September 2021.  Aside from being the day when Autumn arrives in Eastern Ontario, it's also the day the Government of Ontario introduces a requirement for users of certain public facilities and settings to show evidence of full COVID vaccination.  The requirement for proof of vaccination is important for clubs, especially those currently considering how they might return to dancing.

As things stand right now, those 12 years of age and older who participate in indoor fitness and recreational activities (like our dancing) need to provide proof of full COVID-19 immunization along with photo ID.

  • Individuals can obtain proof of immunization by downloading or printing their vaccine receipt from the provincial booking portal or by calling the Provincial Vaccine Booking Line at 1-833-943-3900.
  • The receipt provided must demonstrate that the individual has been fully vaccinated – i.e., two doses with the last dose at least 14 days ago.
  • In addition to proof of immunization, individuals will also need to present photo identification such as a driver's licence or health card.
  • The mandatory requirement for proof of immunization does not apply to outdoor settings where the risk of transmission is lower.
