Why candidate fit matters more than talent

As part of our growth drivers series, I have been reflecting on a piece of research that showed that 81% of placements that fail, do so because of a lack of fit.

Talent is an obvious prerequisite for success, but as our latest blog explores, it is hardly the only one. There’s little point in having a great person if they don’t fit, but conversely fit without talent is challenging.
 
But if you’re going to hire for fit, you need to be very careful that it doesn’t turn into an excuse to exclude people.
