APAC PHOTO BITE NEWS

October 2021

Dear <<First Name>>

Hard to believe it's already nearly October. With the weather getting cooler and the leaves changing it's a great time to put on a warm sweater and get outside with your camera to capture those gorgeous fall colours!

This year October is also Barry Brady month! Commercial & Fine Art Photographer Barry J. Brady will be joining us as a judge for our Exhibition night on October 4th and also will be giving us a photoshop training presentation on our Program Night on October 18th. We hope to see you there for both of these great nights!

With the current COVID-19 situation in BC we will be continuing to meet on ZOOM for the foreseeable future so watch for those ZOOM credential emails and please join us!

As always, inside this edition of Photo Bites you will find information about ongoing APAC initiatives, events, upcoming meetings, news about the club and maybe even something to inspire you.

You can always find more details too on our APAC Website.

In this issue:

  • 2020/21 Awards & Medals
  • Competition Opportunities
  • October Exhibition Night Details
  • October Program Night Details
  • Abbotsford Arts Council recognizes one of our own

October 4th Exhibition Night

The Assigned Topic is Curves & Lines (CAPA) -  Curved lines in a photograph create an effect completely different to that of straight lines. Curved lines have the effect of slowing the photograph down and suggesting time passing. Because a curved line takes longer to get from point A to point B, it suggests a tranquil, restful mood and having time to get there.

A reminder that entries into the Assigned Competition this month will be considered for our APAC entry into the upcoming CAPA Curves & Lines Competition in early 2022

Zoom will start at 6:30pm for socializing in breakout rooms.
Zoom info will be emailed to members in the afternoon.

Meeting will begin at 7pm

Reminder: Images need to be submitted by
Wednesday September 29th at 11:30pm

October 18th Program Night

Join us for a night while one of our favourite photographers, adjudicators and presenters shares his knowledge of photoshop to help us all improve our post processing skills and gain insight from a judges perspective.
