The first day of speech therapy with intensity was very encouraging. So thankful for dedicated professionals with incredible skills! One day at a time, with trust.

Hi everyone.
Paul is improving daily. He pushes himself physically, instigating his own walking at least 5 times a day and doing exercises in his room. He’s eating well and his pain is well controlled with I V Tylenol.
They have taken him off some of the treatment to reduce brain swelling, but he still has a drain. They plan another brain scan tomorrow morning to check the lesion and swelling. Once he doesn’t need the drain anymore he can be transferred out of the intensive care unit. That will make Jonah happy—the shaved head and drain tube and hospital gown are scary to him.
Speech therapy has been working with him the last couple of days he actually sang happy birthday today. Apparently singing is not the same as speaking. We have a great therapist, and she is recommending that Paul go to Walter Reed Hospital in Washington DC for some intensive therapy, leaving here in about a week. So, that’s the plan for now. We are extremely thankful to God for the progress made and are watching all the time for more. What gifts!
