Material characterisation and modelling offers a great deal of opportunities to many European industries to face current challenges, boost material optimisation by better predicting material or part performance, prevent production losses and improve part quality.

Final Conference RECOTRANS: Shifting towards advanced, digital and greener technologies

As part of the European RECOTRANS project dissemination programme, AIMPLAS and the RECOTRANS consortium are hosting an online conference on Wednesday 29 September 2021. The event seeks contributions covering research projects that are focused on the development of novel materials, technologies and methods for an efficient manufacturing and composite recycling concepts of the next generation of the transport sector, in alignment with the European Mobility Strategy Roadmap.
The technical sessions will cover the following broad topic areas within the transport sector:
- Green manufacturing for sustainable mobility
- Smart digital method for quality control system
- Eco-innovative solutions for composite recycling
- Advanced lightweight materials and eco-design for efficient mobility

Next 29th of September, Prof. Carlos D. González (IMDEA Materials Institute) will present some of the work done in his research group, under the title of “On the use of machine learning for smart manufacturing of structural composites”.
