Sorrento Surf Lifesaving WA are currently looking for a Bar Manager/Functions Manager.

The role is minimum 15 hours per week, increasing over Summer.

The Role
To provide support to Sorrento Surf Life Saving Club’s operations
Promote profile of the Sorrento Surf Life Saving Club both externally and internally to all members and non member;

Duties - Primary
• Function - Coordinate the hire of the Club facilities to corporate bodies, Club members and the general public including invoicing based on client requirements (i.e. hall hire, staff food and beverages)
• Functions - Supervisor on duty during functions.
• Purchases - Raising Club purchase orders and ordering of function supplies (food & beverage) and recording of competitive quotations where relevant, ensuring relevant authorisations are adhered to i.e. relevant Director and/or Club Office Manager;
• Functions – ensure cool room is stocked ready for use by staff.
• Functions - Entering stock in POS system
• Functions - Receipt and dispensing of monies including the preparation of floats, reconciliations and banking.
• Occupational Health and Safety – identify and attend to any breaches of safety in conjunction with the Club Office Manager and relevant director;
• Management - Staff Roster

Secondary
• Administration - Provide administrative support to the Club Office Manager including but not limited to filing (electronic and paper), photocopying, handling of member and public enquiries and data entry as required;
• Administration - Fulfil the tasks and duties associated with the Club Office Manager in their absence;
• Other duties as deemed necessary by the Club Office Manager and/or the Board of Management.
Training and Experience
• Management of Licensed Premises for Unrestricted Managers qualification (52735WA or 52473WA:MLP1) or willing to attain.
• Has Responsible Service of Alcohol qualification (SITHFAB002; SITHFAB009A; THHBFB09A or THHBFB09B) or willing to attain.
• Excellent computer skills
• Strong organisational ability
• Able to manage and prioritise work and work in a multi task situation.
• Excellent communication skills
• Willingness to work as a team member
• Understanding of the requirements and operations of a Surf Life Saving Club
