MONTHLY NEWSLETTER - SEPTEMBER 2021 |
In my second month at RASASC it has been a real privilege to meet with leaders in Rape Crisis and the violence against women and girls' movement to discuss current issues and priorities.
The need for sustainable funding for sexual violence services, provision of a national 24-hour sexual violence helpline run by a specialist organisation, and ensuring the new Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Bill explicitly recognises domestic and sexual violence within the definition of serious violence, remain vital areas that need addressing.
Amongst the ongoing challenges, there are lots of opportunities, and I am inspired by the collective power and positivity that exists in us working together for a shared cause.
