Hello neighbors!
September 13, 2021, Brookwood Place HOA Board held its Monthly Meeting at Thom Tomlinson's house. In attendance were 2021 Board members: Thom Tomlinson, Denise Fast, Michelle Kring, Ashley Shadel, Jan Kinney and Kevin Knipp.
Topics of discussion included:
- Maintenance of landscape around the BWP monuments at the entrances to BWP
- Upcoming social events
- Roundabout near the north entrance

All residents are encouraged to attend any of the monthly meetings. The HOA Board holds monthly meetings every second Monday of the month.
|
|
The fall large track pickup is scheduled for October 5. This is a regular trash pick up day.
Here are the guidelines for large trash pickup from Republic Services:
Republic is asking that we limit items to 5 items per residence. (If you have more than 5 items, ask a neighbor who is not putting out items if you can put items at their curb.) Items need to be curbside by 7:00 am Oct. 5.
Accepted items:
- furniture
- appliances, such as refrigerators, washing machines, and clothes dryers. All freon must be removed
- lawnmowers, which must be empty of any fuel or oil
- barbecue grills, without propane tanks.
- carpeting,, up to 4 foot long rolls that are securely tied, weighing less than 40 lbs. 2 rolls count as one item
- mattresses and box springs
- wood must be bundles in 4 foot lengths, with each bundle weighing less than 40 lbs
- misc. debris-must be in bags that are no bigger than 39 gallons and weigh no more than 40 lbs.; 2 bags equal 1 item
Not Accepted Items
- Hazardous waste: flammable, corrosive, explosive, toxic; including engine oil, fuel tanks, paint, florescent light bulbs
- automotive batteries
- tires
- compressed gas cylinders
- riding lawnmowers
- glass panels where any dimensions exceed 4 feet
- yard waste, brush or tree limbs
- rocks, bricks, or concrete
- latex or oil based paint
- fertilizer, pesticide, solvent
- construction material larger than 4x4, roofing material, loose flooring materials, or railroad ties
- liquid waste
- solid waste and recycling material that are collected as part of regular curbside service
- any waste or material that is prohibited from being received, managed or disposed of at a landfill

The Bunko group is inviting residents to join, either as a regular member or as a sub. Bunko meets the 3rd Wednesday of the month at 7 pm. Please contact Denise Fast if you are considering joining this fun group!
We would like to restart the Book Club. If anyone is interested in heading up this group, please contact Demise Fast.

The social committee is planning activities for the rest of the year, including a Halloween parade and a lighted holiday stroll.

Please be careful when entering the roundabout at the south side of the subdivision. The first driver approaching the roundabout has the right of way. Also, please watch your speed while driving through our subdivision. We have lots of little ones who may not be looking out for cars!

BWP Residents' children can advertise their services in the monthly newsletter free of charge. We will have a section with the child's name, contact info, and services offered (ie: mowing, babysitting, etc.) If a more extensive ad is wanted, a regular ad (see below) can be purchased. Our regular advertising will continue to be offered. If you have a business or service that you wish to advertise to our neighborhood, please consider using our newsletter as the advertising avenue. The BWP resident costs are quite low and will reach all of our BWP residents.
Payments should be made to "Brookwood Place Homes Association" and mailed to our address: PO Box 15372, Lenexa, KS 66285.
