At HRFN, we condemn the cruel treatment toward Haitian migrants at Del Rio, Texas. We firmly stand against anti-Black violence and politics of hate impacting Black migrant families and communities. We stand in solidarity with migrant communities around the world who are forced to leave their lands due to climate disasters, military invasions, and economic and political crises.

We join the calls for action from migrant justice organizations demanding that the U.S. administration uphold asylum law and immediately halt all deportations of Haitians and other migrants seeking refuge at the U.S. border. We believe in open borders and freedom of movement for all communities.

As a network of human rights funders, we must demand accountability from the U.S. government for their role in deepening human rights crises across the globe. We must defend and protect the human rights of Black migrants, and all migrants.

Funders affiliated with faith communities can sign onto a letter to stop the deportations to Haiti and hold Customs and Border Protection (CBP) accountable for the horrific abuses at the border.

To demonstrate the faith community’s solidarity with the people of Haiti, we are circulating a faith sign-on letter seeking faith organizational signatories (local, state, national faith orgs invited to sign) and faith leader signatories (faith leaders, people of faith invited to sign) demanding the administration halt deportation flights to Haiti, end Title 42, stop CBP abuses, and extend humanitarian protections to Haitian migrants. Deadline to sign on is Monday, September 27 at NOON ET.
