From the Principal

Dear Parkview Families,

It has been another great week at school!

Last week we had our first two hour late start due to the severe weather that came through our neighborhoods. Many trees were down impeding the bus routes and power was out in much of the district. When we have a two hour late start, it means everything starts exactly two hours later than usual. School buses will pick up exactly two hours later than their regular schedule, the school doors will open at 11:10 and school will begin at 11:30, etc. Families will receive information via district telephone message and there will also be information posted on the district website. Parkview will send email communication to families. We know these unexpected weather situations can be very difficult and we appreciate your flexibility as we work with our school community for a modified schedule to support our students.

We have continued to have great weather for outdoor recess, PE, and for classes to take a short break when needed. Please help your child remember to have shoes for running and playing everyday, as they will need them for recess and PE class. Students can change before going outside if they choose to wear alternate shoes to school. It's also a good idea to have warmer clothing just in case the weather changes.

At this time our transportation department is not allowing bus passes for students to ride a bus home with another student on a school bus. Students will only be allowed to ride their assigned school bus. If a student needs to go home with another student, we are asking the parents to make other arrangements.

Thank you for your support to keep our students healthy. Our Parkview students are doing a great job wearing face coverings indoors and working to keep distance from others. Our goal is to keep our students in school learning. We appreciate your help to keep our community healthy!

Sincerely,
Nicole Garcia, Principal
