Nature in the City:
New exhibit opens October 2, 1-4 pm
with 11 am sketching event!
Exhibition runs October 2 - November 11
San Francisco artists Laurie Wigham, Ryan Jones and Zip Lehnus work at the intersection of nature journaling & urban sketching to explore the richness of nature in our city. This exhibit celebrates the immediacy of impression which harmonizes the natural and the urban. Wigham is a prolific sketch artist; Jones (1978-2008) was a self-taught artist whose love of nature is preserved in watercolor; Lehnus always has a sketch pad! Wigham and Lehnus are both educators and Jones was a dedicated teacher of youth education programs.
We hope this selection of works will enhance your experience with your own sketches.
At 11am-1pm on Oct 2nd, artist Laurie Wigham will lead sketching starting in our garden. From her annnouncement:
Come to the opening on October 2 and sketch with us! We’ll be meeting at 11:00 and wandering around the neighborhood to find some nature around Hayes Valley to sketch, and meeting back at the gallery at 1:00. Read more about it at SF Sketchers.

THE CLARK REPORT
IN OTHER MEWS....
CLARK HERE.
So the vet says "maybe" I'll make it to Christmas. Things sound grim but I'm doing ok. It's been a pretty good life, all things considered. Being the Hayes Valley Art Works Mascot since 2017 has really given a purr-pose to my life. And now I've been immortalized by painters the Watercolor Workshop on September 18th.
Anyways. Hope to see you before I head to the great mouse hunt in the sky. I'm looking forward to snacking on some mice at the jazz concert this Saturday 9/25. Check meow...t.
So. You should come, and see me....
Come for the cheese.
Stay for the art.
Fall for the cat.
LOVE,
CLARK
