Steamroller Event
is on Sunday 14 November 2021
Join in the fun as we ink and print giant lino blocks with a road roller in the carpark at 6 Manton
This years theme "Bottom of the Garden" has lead to some truly gorgeous blocks being made already. If you want to get involved by carving a block, or helping out on the day of the event, please email simone@unionstprintmakers.com ASAP for further details.
You are invited to enjoy the spectacle by reserving your place in one of the four viewing sessions on Sunday 14 November: 11am-12noon, 12noon-1pm, 1pm-2pm or 2-3pm. Places are limited, so grab your spot soon.
Tickets cost $9 per person (+ Eventbrite booking fee).
Primary aged kids (and younger) are free, but must be accompanied by their adult at all times.
Whilst the steamroller printing occurs in the 6 Manton carpark, the 6 Manton Gallery will host live-printmaking by Stone & Quoin Studio on one of their studio presses, alongside an exhibition of beautiful artworks in the "Immersion" Exhibition by Sue Garrard and Ellen Schlobohm. You'll be able to purchase art from the exhibition, as well as original prints and cards by Stone & Quoin artists Sally Heinrich, Georgie Willoughby, Victoria Paterson and Damien Warman. "Salon de Refuse" (Our other SALA event)
was also a great success!
|
|
|
The exhibition took place in the carpark of 6 Manton on our art wall.
People where encouraged to take an artpiece and give it a good home, to contribute a piece they no longer wanted, or just to come along and have a look and be part of the fun - all for free.
We think the shortest record for how long an artwork hung on the wall was about 2 minutes before it found a new home!

Isabelle (above) took a canvas and left one - her mum Natalie sent us these photos of the original canvas & it's rebirthed creation! She told us...
"My daughter, Isabelle is already back in her room working on her next creation with the ones she pieces collected today. Makes me so happy seeing how much she is loving her art journey!
Makes us happy too!! Exactly what Salon de Refuse was all about - getting involved in art!
Huge Thanks to James Cottam from Street Bounty fame who pitched the idea and helped us with socials from lockdown in Sydney!
