You're invited to join the Mayor of Greater Manchester, Andy Burnham, for his first Question Time event in more than 18 months.

The event will take place in Bury on Thursday, October 28, 2021 and will begin at 7.30pm.

Greater Manchester Leaders back homelessness strategy
Leaders across the city-region are supporting our first ever Homelessness Prevention Strategy following public consultation.
£1.5m awarded to help prevent domestic abuse
Greater Manchester has been awarded more than £1.5m funding to help run special programmes aimed at preventing domestic abuse.
Violence Reduction Unit shares videos with parents
Greater Manchester's VRU has launched videos for parents of 10-17-year-olds, helping them to understand what violence is and signposting towards support.
Greater Manchester's Month of Hope
September 10 to October 10 is dedicated to raising awareness of suicide, having open conversations about mental health and sharing messages of hope.
Greater Manchester's new road safety campaign 'Limits Save Lives' has launched this week, led by Transport for Greater Manchester, and supported by partners including Greater Manchester Combined Authority, Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service and Greater Manchester Police, to highlight the devastating impact that speeding can have on people's lives.

As part of the campaign, GMFRS firefighter Scott Barry-Godsell, based at Ashton Community Fire Station has
shared his story.
Apprentice firefighters welcomed to team
GMFRS has welcomed 19 new apprentice firefighters to its family, following a celebratory pass out parade on Thursday, August 19.
Live phone footage to be used by control operators
Control operators will be able to view live footage from the public's phones at the scene of a Greater Manchester fire, to help inform which resources to send.

Fire safety teams recently supported national Business Safety Week, helping to keep local businesses safe from fire.

National Fitness Day - Wednesday, September 22
Greater Sport is encouraging people to get moving on National #FitnessDay to highlight the role of physical activity in helping us to lead healthier lifestyles.
Fully funded business cyber security programme
The North West Cyber Resilience Centre (NWCRC) is raising awareness of cyber threats that come with moving online and providing practical support to help protect small businesses in Greater Manchester from online crime.

There is a dedicated programme to improve cyber resilience through assessment, testing, training and education - signposting to free or affordable police and government-backed guidance and tools where required.
