We are pleased to announce that the Community Investment Fund (CIF) Toolkit is officially available to the public at no charge on our website at comcapcoalition.org/toolkit.
The CIF Toolkit is a collection of resources to help you develop your own community investment fund. The Toolkit includes explainer videos and downloadable worksheets to get you started, including a Team Builder Matrix, Investment Thesis Worksheet, Fund Calculator, Operating Structure Checklist, and Financial Modeling Guidelines. The Toolkit acts as a complement to “Chapter 2: Steps to Create a Community Investment Fund” of the CIF Handbook.
Take a look at the CIF Toolkit and let us know what you think! We’d love to hear from you, particularly if you are thinking about starting a fund in your community.

We have an upcoming webinar showcasing the CIF Toolkit today at 12pm PT/3pm ET. Janice Shade, author of the Toolkit, will introduce the resources and explore how communities are using these tools to create their own CIFs. We are honored to be joined by Yoni Blumberg, VP of Community Wealth Building at WEPOWER. Among other powerful organizing work, WEPOWER manages a fund to accelerate community-owned wealth generation by investing in high growth Black and Latinx businesses in North St. Louis.

Are you an NC3 member (or prospective member) looking to use the CIF Toolkit in your community? Please let us know! We hope to engage our membership community in a process of collaborative learning to accelerate this movement. We have so much to learn from each other as we build the infrastructure for a fairer, more democratic economy. NC3 is excited to make connections, document best practices, and share learnings about this work with your participation.
