Justice Clarence Thomas delivers Tocqueville Lecture
U.S. Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas delivered the 2021 Tocqueville Lecture last week at the DeBartolo Performing Arts Center. The lecture was sponsored by ND’s Center for Citizenship and Constitutional Government, which is directed by Phillip Muñoz.

Veronica Root Martinez authors chapters in compliance handbook
Veronica wrote a chapter, Third Party and Appointed Monitorships, and co-authored a chapter, Transnational Anti-Bribery Law, in the The Cambridge Handbook of Compliance.

Elkhart police chief asks for detective who lied in 2002 homicide case to be fired
Andy Royer, the first exonerated client of ND Law’s Exoneration Justice Clinic was wrongfully convicted based, in large part, on Lt. Carl Conway’s false testimony. Last week, Elkhart’s police chief asked that Conway be fired. Read more here.

A young mother and child from El Salvador were granted asylum in the United States last week, thanks to the legal advocacy of Notre Dame Law School student Sophia Aguilar. Read more here.

Register for Law School Homecoming Tailgate

ND Law's 4th Annual Homecoming Tailgate will be on Saturday, Oct. 2 from 11 a.m-2 p.m. on DeBartolo Quad. The tent party will feature an open bar with craft beer, wine, and seltzers, and food provided by Taphouse on the Edge.
Faculty and staff may attend at no cost, but registration is required. Register here by September 26.
