Our confirmed guests include David Wayne Reed with the Municipal Art Commission of Kansas City, Missouri to speak about the art installations at the new Kansas City International Airport; and Laura Gunter with the Kansas City Fire Department.

The Waldo Fall Festival is happening tomorrow, Saturday, September 18th from 10am until 5pm in a new location, the parking lot of the Trolley Trail at Gregory & Wornall. Lots of local crafts artists will be there to fill all of your early holiday shopping needs!


Kansas City Community Garden Fall Family Festival Is Back!


Join the Kansas City Community Garden (KCCG) from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, September 18, in the Beanstalk Children's Garden for a day of free family fun.

Activities include fruit and veggie tasting, garden crafts, bug exhibits, yard games, scavenger hunt, free basil plants, and more!

Please note - KCCG will follow city guidelines for COVID protocols. As the event gets closer, please visit their Fall Family Festival Webpage for additional safety protocols.

 

6th District Community Happy Hour Event


You're invited! Join neighbors and community members for a KC Community Happy Hour in the 6th District featuring Councilmember Andrea Bough and Shellie Montemurro to speak about voter registration opportunities in Jackson County.

This is a community event and space for folks to have a good time while talking about local issues.

Drinks will be available for purchase. For COVID safety, this will be on the outdoor patio and masks and hand sanitizer will be available.

This FREE program allows for young people to spend time in nature and allows their parents or guardians to have some me-time too! Both are especially important now.


6th District Fall Clean-Up Event


Mark your calendar for a 6th District Fall Clean-Up Event!

Time: 8 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Date: Saturday, October 2, 2021
Locations: Ruskin High School AND South-Broadland Presbyterian church

Bulky items such as old furniture, leaves & brush, tires with or without rims and trash will all be accepted for no charge for City residents. Please read the graphic carefully for details on what items will be accepted.

There are charges for several electronic items that are listed on the graphic above, including: CRT monitors, certain types of TVs, and any item containing freon.

The City also has contracted for free shredding that day.
