Dear all,

As we observe Hispanic Heritage Month, I am delighted to share with you these recollections by our colleague David Lopez MD of Dr. Ramón Parres (1920-2009), the Center's first Hispanic graduate and the founder of the Mexican Psychoanalytic Association. We are honored to count Dr. Parres among our alumni. As you will read, his life and work enriched our Center, our field, and of course, the many, many lives he touched.

Thank you, David, for sharing your memories with us!

Warmly,
Susan

"The many times I asked Ramon during social gatherings in Mexico why Frida Kahlo thanked him in her diary, he responded always with his wonderful characteristic chuckle, which conveyed  great warmth, but also a sense of mischief."
David Lopez, MD
