Dear Hibiki no Kai and Echo Society Members,

Hibiki Zoom Meeting
September 19

Two national holidays this week in Japan!

Monday - 敬老の日   Keirou no hi

Do you know how to say it in English?

Respect for the Aged Day

Thursday is 秋分の日 (shuubun no hi)

Do you know how to say in English?

Autumnal Equinox

What did you do last week?

Doug Lerner : A notice from the city "Senior Support Consultation" office came to me by mail.

Masanori Tatsui : Grandchildren are here.

Atsumi Sugimoto : About the Olympic participation certificate.

Toyoko Tsugehara : There were two meetings at the Silver Human Resources Center. And I went to a health check.

Cathy Lerner : I had problems with email on my iPhone, but Doug helped me fix it.

Rosalie & Myles Tanaka : I did something like a do-it-yourself carpenter.
About NHK TV programs.

Dennis Schneider : Laundry things.
About driving a car on a rainy day.
I spend every day reading books and watching TV, but I get sleepy.

Akie Omori : I handed out gifts for Respect for the Aged Day from the neighborhood association.

Yuriko Yamada : I attended another English class.  I introduced myself every week at Hibiki no Kai, so I was able to do well in this classroom.

Sanae Sugimura : Respect for the Aged Day gifts (green tea) were distributed to the old people by the neighborhood association.  I received one because I’m also an old woman.

                                Ghost !?!?!?
I wanted to put a photo in the background on zoom.
However, Sanae and her helper were transparent and looked like ghosts.

One more joke from Taka-san

A man said to a close friend: “Please listen calmly. I have some good news and some bad news. One is that your wife has died.

“I see. And what is the bad news?”

ある男が、親友に言った。
「落ち着いて聞いてくれ。君に、良い知らせと悪い知らせを持ってきた。1つは君の奥さんが死んでしまったこと」

「なるほど。じゃあ、悪い知らせの方は?」
