IMPORTANT INFO FOR ALL PUPS!
When to stay home & contact Nurse Hechler
· You have a fever of 100° or higher, the day before or day of school
· Are confirmed positive for COVID-19 – for ANYONE in your home
· Awaiting COVID-19 test results – for ANYONE in your home
· Display classic COVID-19 symptoms – severe headache, cough, fever, diarrhea, loss of taste/smell, severe fatigue, muscle aches
· Live with someone who is COVID positive or presumed COVID positive
· Have been notified to be a close contact of either a presumed or confirmed COVID positive person
Contact Nurse Hechler immediately for the above situations – time is of the essence

THE LANIER PTO CORNER
Please make plans to join us at our first PTO meeting of the year this Wednesday, September 22 at 9:00 AM. The meeting will be held virtually. To ensure we can answer as many questions from the community as possible, we ask that questions or concerns be raised via email prior to the meeting so we, along with administration, can provide you with timely information. Please send your questions to lanierptoweb@gmail.com prior to 5:00pm on Tuesday, September 21 and we will do our best to get to all of them. Mr. Wheat will provide a Principal’s Report at the meeting.

Lanier PTO Dollars at Work
Did you know the PTO not only supports teachers and curriculum for our students to do their best learning, but we also support our students’ safety outside of the school? The PTO covers the costs of the constables who help direct traffic around the school. We are working together to make it safer for our children as they get dropped off, picked up and walk to school. Thank you for helping follow the traffic rules to protect our kids.

 GREAT 8 INFO SESSION THIS WEEKOn Wednesday, September 22, we will have a virtual Great 8 information meeting at 7pm via zoom. 8th grade parents, please plan to join us!
We will talk about our GREAT 8 plans for our awesome 8th grade class.
Great 8 is a celebration of all of the accomplishments and friendships created at Lanier Middle School, which include:

C L U B S P O T L I G H T
PHOTOGRAPHY CLUB
Photography Club is meeting the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of every month. We will meet in room 224 from 4pm- 5pm. We will have accomplished photographers come to teach us tips of the trade.
6th GRADE DEBATE CLUB
All 6th graders are invited to attend the after school sixth grade debate club. The first meeting is Tuesday, Sept. 21 from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. on the North Patio. Please make sure you have a ride to get you at 5 p.m. and masks are required. Contact Franz Hill at fhill1@houstonisd.org if you have any questions.
