About this talk

What can beneficiaries do when disputes arise between beneficiaries and executors/administrators of an estate? Executors/administrators owe various duties to the beneficiaries of an estate. Beneficiaries can and should enforce and protect their rights. Join us for this online talk to learn about the process of administering an estate, how common disputes arise and how they can be resolved.

Speakers

Prisilla graduated with a Second Class Honours (Division 1) in Bachelor of Laws (Hons) from Cardiff University, Wales, United Kingdom in 2014. She completed her Certificate in Legal Practice in 2015. Prisilla subsequently read in the chambers of Sreenevasan Young and was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in January 2017.

Upon her admission to the Malaysian Bar, Prisilla joined MahWengKwai & Associates as an Associate of the Dispute Resolution Practice Group in 2017. Prisilla’s experience includes handling a variety of real estate, commercial, corporate and probate related disputes. Prisilla has been recognised as the firm’s Senior Associate in 2021.

Kar Men graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from Cardiff University, Wales, United Kingdom in 2017. She completed her Bar Professional Training Course (BPTC) at Cardiff University and was called to the Bar of England and Wales (Middle Temple Inn) in 2018. Kar Men was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in March 2020.

Kar Men commenced her pupillage in MahWengKwai & Associates under the tutelage of Mr Gan Chong Chieh and upon admission to the Malaysian Bar, she began her practice in MahWengKwai & Associates as an Associate. Her areas of practice include general litigation, probate and administration of estates, land disputes, corporate and commercial litigation, debt recovery and family law matters.
