A night to remember…
From the decorations to the delicious hot dogs to the sensational music, tonight was spectacular. Thank you to our Family Life Team who organized our Hot Dog & Movie Social as well as generous Pleasant Grove neighbor, Nancy Manzella, who let us borrow her DVD.
Kim, our gifts (and creative songs) last night only begin to scratch the surface of what you mean to us. Blessings on the adventure ahead and know you always have a church family in us.

Meet our New Music Director, Lynn Heaton
While we are sad to see Kim go, the SPRC team can affirm God’s provisions in our search process. The team happily and unanimously called Lyn Heaton to be our next Music Director, starting October 3rd.
Lyn has a wealth of experience leading church choirs and worship all across the Greater Birmingham area. Specifically, she comes to us after successfully serving for years at Fairfield Highlands Baptist Church.
Lyn has a deep passion for the Lord and her four adult daughters—Christa Lodico, Rebekah Harmon, Joy Morris, Jennifer Close.

God created all creatures and some are more special to us as we name them and call them our pets. God’s blessing rests on all created order and through this blessing we recognize this special relationship we have with our animals.
On Sunday, October 3rd anytime between 1-3 PM, we will have a drive-thru blessing of the animals outside the Gym Entrance. Bring your pet/pets to be blessed as you sit in your car.

New Grief Support Group to Meet First Sundays
Directly after worship on first Sundays, a new grief support group will meet for fellowship, encouragement, and spiritual renewal. The group is led by retired UMC pastor and district superintendent, Dr. Herb Williamson. All are welcome to attend!

Urgent Roof Needs
Our roof in our main office building is in severe shape and needs to be replaced. It will roughly cost us between $30,000 to $50,000. Any donations would be much appreciated for this urgent need. You can make checks payable to the church with memo, “Roof replacement”’.

Covid-19 Booster Shots
Need help getting your Covid-19 booster shot? Pastor Matt is more than willing to help you get your appointment made online.

Flu Shots
CVS Pharmacy will be at our church in the FLC Fellowship Hall today, Sept. 20 from 10:00 a.m. to Noon to give flu shots. Many insurance plans are accepted. Come and bring your friends and family.

Health & Safety Team
The church was informed that two church members who attended worship September 12, one of which helped serve communion, have tested positive for COVID.
Thus, as an extra safety precaution, the Health & Safety Committee voted to require masks in worship until this Sunday for all those 5 and older. If you plan to attend, please wear a mask, even if vaccinated. Thank you for keeping our people safe.

Parsonage Need
Does anyone have a riding lawn mower collecting dust at their house that they’d like to donate to the church (or let us borrow for a while)? The parsonage riding mower has seen better days.
