MISSION STATEMENT
Murray Christian Fellowship is a non-denominational / interdenominational campus ministry committed to sharing the great news of a real transformed life in Jesus with students, faculty, and staff at Murray State University.
God of Redemption
How many Bible stories are about a messy human who, despite the mess, is chosen to do something for God that is wonderful?

My favorite messy hero is Gideon.  A lot of people know him as “the fleece guy,” who asked God to prove He was with Gideon by alternately making a piece of fleece either wet or dry, despite being left out in the dew.  But his story begins before that when God appeared to Gideon and called him a “mighty man of valor.”  At the time, Gideon was hiding from Israel’s enemies in a wine press.  And despite Gideon describing himself as the least of his family, God called him to save Israel from their oppressors.  Gideon had a lot of moments of doubt, but God met him at each of those moments to remind him that this is God’s plan, not Gideon’s.  Many people think it ends with God using Gideon and a tiny crew of men to scare the enemy into attacking each other and running away, but the story keeps going.  Gideon and his men gathered more soldiers and chased the enemies across the country.  By the end, Gideon became the man of valor that God already knew him to be.
Jennifer Kramer is an example of a current redemption story.  She was at MCF from 1999-2004 as an art major.  She was very involved at MCF, including painting the mural in the bathroom. After graduation, she lived through some very difficult things, including a narcissistic abusive relationship.  God helped her heal through her art, and now she wants to help guide other people in their own healing processes.  “I work with women who are survivors of narcissistic abuse and have launched a Kickstarter campaign this month, with the goal of funding a few different projects in my new, storefront art therapy studio in Louisville, KY.”

Events in our life shape us, whether we want them to or not.  I don’t think they define us.  We are defined by our Creator, not by our life.  But I think that God can use the beauty and the mess of our very human life to mold us.  I’m sure we all wish life were simple or care free, but the hard times are part of the whole.

We hope to encourage and inspire our students with messy heroes like Jennifer, who step out into who God has made them to be, and to be a part of someone else’s story of healing.

Thank you for your continued support and love for our ministry.
May the God of peace be with you.

As mentioned above, Jennifer Kramer was involved at MCF from 1999-2004, serving on the student leadership team and using her art talents to paint murals in the MCF Campus House that are still here (The one in the bathroom is a particular student favorite.)

After graduation, Jennifer survived a narcissistic abusive relationship, and found healing in her artwork.  Now she wants to share her knowledge and experience with other women who need help overcoming abuse.  She opened an art studio in Louisville in 2019, but was shut down due to COVID.  Now that she has be able to re-open, she needs help funding studio programs and buying supplies for her clients.

"I work with women who are survivors of narcissistic abuse and have launched a Kickstarter campaign this month, with the goal of funding a few different projects in my new, storefront art therapy studio in Louisville, KY.

"I’m looking for backers who share my vision of empowering women who are survivors of narcissistic abuse to redefine their identity and start living life on their own terms. As a survivor myself, I know how the lingering effects of the abuse can keep us feeling stuck in life for months and even years after the relationship with the narcissist has ended. My mission is always to share the messages and techniques that have helped in my own healing with as many other women as possible. You can view my page to learn about the specific projects I’m funding, and also see the rewards I’m offering to my backers."
Her campaign ends on Sept 25 at 7am Central, and if she isn't fully funded by then, she will lose all the funding she has earned. So even if you aren't able to give right now, you can still help. Jennifer needs to spread the word about her Kickstarter ASAP.

"According to Kickstarter, it's typical for 80% of a project's funds to come from those who do not know the creator personally. So the more people who share my project link with their friends, family and colleagues, the better!"
Visit her Kickstarter to learn more, and be sure to share! Help bring healing to women in Louisville, and encourage them to believe that "They deserve to take up space."
