Concession Stand - Volunteers Needed This Weekend!
Volunteers are needed for weekend shifts through November 14th. Volunteering is fun and can be a great opportunity to spend time with your children or a family member or catch up with a friend. Sign up for a volunteer shift here.
Incentives: PTA volunteers who complete two volunteer shifts in the concession stand will receive an E. Rivers t-shirt. Teachers and staff who complete a volunteer shift will receive a coupon to wear jeans to school.

Fall Picnic - Volunteers Needed | September 24
Fall Picnic is back! Come join fellow E. Rivers families and administration at the annual fall picnic on Friday, September 24 from 5:30-8 p.m. Enjoy music, Das Barbecue and Kona Ice or bring your own picnic. You can sign up for PTA memberships, the RIvers Shivers 5K and buy spiritwear! We look forward to seeing everyone there! And we have a few spots where we need volunteers. Reading is Our Superpower!
On October 1st we will be kicking off our Roaring Rivers Readers’ Accelerated Reader program! We have scheduled this special Kick off with Magician, Tommy Johns! This year’s AR Reading kick off theme is: Readers are Superheroes! Please encourage your child to dress as their favorite Super Hero or to wear a cape on October 1st! We want our students to be excited about reading and understand the value of being a great reader!

Funds raised during the Lion’s Pride Annual Campaign go directly to supporting our School’s needs in areas of curriculum development, technology, and teacher training. It is these educational “extras” that make E. Rivers a top 10 APS elementary school.
BASC-3 Parent Survey
You may now complete the BASC-3 BESS parent survey here. As a reminder, the BASC-3 screener is a district initiative that will allow you, your child (3rd-5th graders), and your child's teacher to assess behavioral and emotional strengths and growth opportunities in students in grades K-12.

District Attendance Policy

Atlanta Virtual Academy
Based on increasing demand in virtual learning options and a review of the current health conditions in our community, Atlanta Public Schools will expand enrollment in Atlanta Virtual Academy. The application window ends October 22. The lottery is scheduled for November 5. See more information here.
Call for Room Parents and Volunteers
There are tons of ways to get involved at E. Rivers! If you are interested in being a room parent or hearing about the variety of volunteer opportunities throughout the year, please email Molly and Cason at eriversvolunteers@gmail.com to begin receiving our monthly newsletter with sign-up opportunities included.
Request for Singers
The music department is looking for some singers for Rivers Shivers on October 23rd and our Veteran's Day event on November 11th. Ms. Weingart will hear singers on October 4th, 5th, and 6th and final performers will be chosen on October 8th. If your student is interested, please let Ms. Weingart know: Jessica.Weingart@atlanta.k12.ga.us.
Girl Scout Interest Meetings

Is your daughter interested in joining the Girl Scouts? Girls can get involved starting in kindergarten. Come to either interest meeting to learn more. Thursday September the 23rd at 7:00PM VIRTUAL (see info below) OR Sunday the 26th at 2:15 at the E Rivers Playground (daughters are welcome to attend). There will be soccer games during the Sunday event so parking may take longer than usual.
