Homecoming Dance
The HOMECOMING DANCE will be Saturday, October 2nd in the Grimsley Cafeteria & Plaza from 8:00pm until 12:00am. Tickets went on sale on Monday, September 20th and the last day to order tickets is Thursday, September 30th. Tickets will be sold online only. Students may purchase tickets through the K – 12 Website. Students will NOT be allowed to bring guests to this year’s Homecoming Dance. Students will need to bring their ID/One Card and keep their K-12 receipt for entry. Receipts can be digital.
Free Virtual College Planning Session
Tuesday, September 28 5:00-6:00pm
Open to all parents and students, not just seniors. There have been many changes to the college application process during the pandemic. Come learn more from our friends at University Prep Tutoring.

Class Ring orders for Juniors
A Herff Jones Representative will be on campus on September 28th from 4-6 pm in the alcove of the Main Building and Saturday, October 9th from 10am-12pm to take Class Ring orders. A deposit is required. Order packets went home with Juniors on September 22.
Fall Beautification Day at Grimsley
October 9, 10am - 12pm
We will install plants and shrubs and clean up some areas. Bring loppers, shovels, watering cans, clippers and water.
Snacks will be provided! Service hours available!
Testing Information
All students will be taking the Reading and Math MAP Assessments on October 5th. Students should report to their 1st period for testing.
All 9th – 11th graders will take the PSAT on October 13th – there is no need to register. Seniors can use this day for a college visit or job shadowing.
All 10th graders will take the PreACT on October 27th.
Testing information is always shared through teacher’s classes, Canvas pages, and the school website. But, you may also find testing information at https://bit.ly/GHStesting4parents .

Grimsley’s Junior Classical League
Grimsley’s Junior Classical League, or Latin club, will have it’s first meeting for all interested members on Monday, September 27th at 4:30 in Magistra Kunka’s room, number 864.
Grimsley Mental Health Club
The Grimsley Mental Health Club will have its first meeting Monday, September 27th for anyone interested in joining the club. The meeting will be in Main in room 302.
Reflections
Do you enjoy art, music and dance or have an interest in writing, producing films and taking photos? Then join us and have fun unleashing your inner artist with PTA Reflections! This year’s theme, “I Will Change the World By...,” calls for your own unique interpretation through the arts. If you would like to be considered a student nominee for the Park Scholarship for NC State please upload your resume and personal statement to the google form under this scholarship on the counseling website by 7pm on October 1st.
If you would like to be nominated for the Levine scholarship for UNC-Charlotte all you need to do is let Ms. Taylor know via email. Nothing else is required!

SAT Dates - October 2nd, November 6th, December 4th, March 12th, May 7th, and June 4th
October 13th - PSAT for Underclassmen – This is a great day for a college visit.
October 21st - Senior Class Parent Meeting with Herff Jones in the Media Center. Time will be determined later.
November 4th - Senior Class Meeting for senior items with Herff Jones in the auditorium during Home Room.
November 9th - Senior Supply Orders during lunch for students and in the evening for parents.
November 10th - Senior Supply Orders - lunch only (Alcove)
January 26th - Panoramic picture to be taken during homeroom in the Gym.
Week of February 7th - Cap and Gown pictures will be taken in the Auxiliary Gym during English Classes.
March 1st - ACT testing day for Juniors. This is another great day for a college visit.
March 3rd - Cap and Gown picture retakes.
