Virtual annual meeting celebrates success, looks to next phase  
 
The 2021 Can-SOLVE CKD Annual Meeting was held on September 9 and 10. It was wonderful to connect in the virtual environment, and we hope that the next meeting will be in person.

Highlights included a fireside chat with network leadership and members of the Patient Governance Circle Executive, a keynote presentation by cultural safety facilitator Harley Eagle, and the launch of our new Land Acknowledgment Learning Series.

National Day for Truth and Reconciliation 

The first National Day of Truth and Reconciliation is observed on September 30. We encourage our network members to use this time to reflect on the significance of the day and what it means to them. Reconciliation can take various forms including educating yourself about the significance and importance of the day and encouraging others to do the same.

Dr. Joanne Kappel wins inaugural Howard Vincent Reconciliation Award

We are excited to announce that Dr. Joanne Kappel is the recipient of the inaugural Howard Vincent Reconciliation Award. The award was presented to Dr. Kappel at the Can-SOLVE CKD Network Annual Meeting on September 10. We were so honoured to have the award presented by Howard Vincent’s sister Jean Allbuery.
