September 28, 5–6:30 p.m.
Author Book Talk by Traci Bliss: Big Basin Redwood Forest: California's Oldest State Park. Hear the untold story of early efforts to preserve the ancient redwoods for future generations. Read more here.
October 2, 1 p.m. Peopleologie teaches kids about native Californians and their crafts as they learn to build their own mini canoe. We'll use the water pump and flume in the patio to test our crafts!
October 9, 2–5 p.m. Ensamble Folklórico Colibrícelebrates LatinX Heritage Month and LGBTQ History Month through dance and discussion. A small exhibit of Folklórico costumes and light refreshments will be provided.
October 10, 2–4 p.m.
First meeting of the Advisory Council of Teens (ACT). Open to all SLV young adults, ages 12–18, the main focus is to advise the library on young adult services, including programs, events, spaces, and policies.
October 13, 5–6 p.m. The Home Birth Movement in Santa Cruz County talk is part of the Birth Happens speaker series of the SLV Museum, in partnership with SCPL and FLF.
COVID Protocol: As a reminder, masks are required for all people ages 3 and up at all times while in library spaces for all SCPL programs, whether indoor or outdoor.
