The Guild’s professional certifications feature three tiers of presentation designations: Specialist, Expert, and Master (release date to be announced next year). We unveiled our first assessment for Certified Presentation Specialist (CPS)™ – PowerPoint in 2017. Since then, many have attained that designation.
Certified Presentation Specialists will be eligible to take the Certified Presentation Expert (CPE)™ – PowerPoint assessment in early October.
Both certification bootcamps will meet during one week for two hours every day. Each day, the instructor will review one category of standards. You will also complete a practice test during class and focus on the mechanics of taking the test. These sessions are certification prep courses and not PowerPoint training classes. Instructors will go quickly through the material. The CPS and CPE exams are based on the Presentation Industry Professional Standards, published by the Presentation Guild.

We aren’t sure what Sheila will pull from her plastic pumpkin of goodies. However, we do know that Cliff, Julie, and Lori can turn any frightful tales into delightful tricks and treats.
Each year, the Guild welcomes new directors to our Board. This fosters new ideas and strategies to guide the organization into the future. We are looking for members who are passionate about the Guild and our industry. Members who will work as a team to set goals and create the paths necessary to meet them. We are looking for event planners, writers, graphic designers, marketers, managers, strategists, web wranglers, and education specialists. If you have these skillsets or others, you can help the Guild continue to lead the presentation industry into the future.
Board service also comes with perks such as complimentary membership dues and opportunities to work side-by-side with leaders in our industry. Plus, Board membership looks great in your résumé, LinkedIn profile, and bio.
Elections will take place this year in October. New Directors will start their terms in January 2022.

The professional at the expert level is expected to have comprehensive knowledge, skill and efficiency at crafting presentations, work independently, have at least 18 months of experience and/or training with at least 3,000 hours of direct presentation craftsmanship, and have attained the Certified Presentation Specialist – PowerPoint™ certification.
