HIPM CELEBRATING 10 YEARS OF GOD’S FAITHFULNESS IN CHURCH MINISTRY.

In the month of September 2011, we had our first church service in a basement at Fairview, Halifax, NS. Today when I turn back to see, I realize how amazingly and faithfully God has brought us thus far.  It was not an easy start in ministry as a new immigrant in this nation leaving my well-paid IT job.  Even though it was a rough journey in the ministry during the past ten years, the one who called us was faithful and He never let us down.  All glory be to God alone.
During the past ten years, many families were blessed through our ministry.  We provided shelter to many landed immigrants, helping them and praying for them to settle down in terms of housing, job, car, daycare, etc.  During the past 10 years we have seen with our own eyes, children being born, students starting their universities and getting employed or moving out after completion, temporary workers becoming permanent residents, sicknesses getting healed, demonic oppressions leaving, broken marriages getting fixed, people taking water baptism, receiving anointing of the Holy Spirit, Gospel being preached through outreach events, reaching out to vulnerable seniors at senior homes, when the church grew, part of the congregation branching out and starting a Malayalam church, orphan children getting supported internationally, online prayer ministry expanding to other nations, online children and youth ministry reaching many homes across the world during pandemic are some of the highlights of what God has done during the past 10 years.
I want to thank the families and individuals who are standing with us all through these years and providing their unwavering and non-judgmental support to us.  I can’t thank enough for the prayer support we have been receiving from the sisters of online prayer ministry all through these years.   We are standing today because of their love, care and prayer support.  Every year the elected church board has been providing tremendous support and encouragement for us to move forward.  Certainly, we enjoy the covering and fellowship of our affiliate organization the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada (PAOC) and my fellow pastors.  I am sure the first 10 years have equipped us to launch into the next decade.
Even though few members of the congregation were always unhappy for various reasons and moved out in between, the time, effort, fasting, prayer, money and tears we poured into their lives will never stay dormant without producing righteous seeds of good works in their lives. Finally, I want to appreciate and thank my wife, who is the women behind this man, patiently standing with me in this journey and my son who has grown up as a young man listening to these stories of being raised in a pastor’s family trying to support and encourage us in all possible ways.
I want to appreciate and thank you for taking time to read this newsletter.  Stay back and enjoy a short video and the ministry highlights as you scroll down further. May God richly bless you and your family.

2010: HIPM MAKING ITS PRESENCE KNOWN IN FREDERICTON, NB AND IN HALIFAX, NS CANADA.

During the whole year of 2010 while we were living in Fredericton, every weekend we as a family were driving to the Maritime cities of Moncton, NB, Halifax, NS and Stratford, PE to meet people and to know why God had brought us to the Atlantic Canada from the United States.  Wherever we went, we had house prayers, monthly gatherings and special events during this time.  While we lived in Fredericton, we were introduced to the PAOC by our friend Rev. Duane Collicott.  Eventually we realized that God wanted us to move to Halifax in order to establish a church ministry and we obeyed the call of God.

2011: HOME CHURCH IN FREDERICTON, NB MOVED TO A BASEMENT CHURCH IN HALIFAX, NS

We remember those families and individuals who were with us during those initial days, encouraging and motivating us to start a church.  May God continue to bless them as they have a major part in this ministry.

2012: HIPM BECAME AN AFFILIATED ASSEMBLY WITH THE PAOC

HIPM became a Canadian charity in full affiliation with the PAOC on Nov 2, 2012. Pastor Carmen Crockett, Evangel Pentecostal Church, Dartmouth, NS officiated the first Business Meeting of affiliation with the PAOC.  Sunday service and all the other church activities started from this basement location in Fairview, Halifax.  An outreach initiative was taken to minster to the seniors living in the Berkeley retirement home.

In 2013 we moved to a main level building in Beechville.  Three small groups were started in the city during this year.  One at Roy Chacko's house in Halifax West, another one at John Nakka's house in Halifax North and the third one  in Laila & Joy Sison's house.  Vacation Bible School (VBS) was conducted with the support of volunteers.  A Baptism service was conducted in Camp Evangeline and people were baptized in Debert river.  An ALPHA course was conducted and coordinated by Evan Kennedy and the weekend away session was conducted in the Bayside camp at Sambro Head, NS.  A winter clothing giveaway was organized by Kishan Garapati and Grace Rajaretnam in Dalhousie university along with the help of the Salvation Army.  A workshop on marriage relationship was conducted for the couples of the church.  An outreach initiative was taken in Oxford Manor to minister to the seniors living there.

2014: SERVING THE COMMUNITY OF BEECHVILLE, NS

One year of ministry in Beechville focused mainly on the community.  Community events such as free BBQ, VBS and a Christmas event were conducted during this year.  Gerald and Samantha provided their best support to build our youth ministry.  God opened an opportunity through Seraphim Blentzas to work with Eastlink, a Canadian cable television service provider, to have our church program (Beyond Boundaries) broadcasted in the community channel (Ch.10 and Ch.610) on every Sunday at 12:00 noon.

2015: MOVED TO 261 BEDFORD HWY. AND CONTINUED.
