HAWAII CLIMATE CHANGE MITIGATION AND ADAPTATION COMMISSION

HĀ O KE KAI COLLECTION

Aloha Commission Members!

We are excited to announce our partnership with UH’s Better Tomorrow Speaker Series, as we continue to bring the latest climate science and policy work to Hawaii!

The collection of climate change events, titled Hā O Ke Kai, meaning “Breath of the Sea,” is paired with the Commission’s statewide conference series of the same name. It is also intended to coincide with planning for a strong Hawai‘i presence at the United Nations Climate Change Summit (COP26).

SEPTEMBER 30, 2021, 12:00PM HST

We hope you can join us for our upcoming talk with Dr. Kim Cobb, lead author of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) 2022 Report and recipient of the European Geosciences Union’s Hans Oeschger Medal.

Governor Ige is scheduled to give opening remarks and Kuaāina Ulu Auamo Executive Director Kevin Chang to talk about the importance of community grassroots involvement in our climate and sustainability goals for the state.

This event will be moderated by Dr. Victoria Keener, Senior Research Fellow at the East-West Center.
